Built between
a backpack and
a coffee shop.
CarryRise makes the gear we wished existed when we were working out of cafés, hotel rooms, and trains across Europe. The first product is the Portable Monitor Stand. There will be more.
"To make ergonomic, productive work possible anywhere — without stacking books, lugging a 2-kilo arm, or wrecking your neck."
A note from Jerry
Hi — I'm Jerry. I'm a designer based in London, originally from Hong Kong, and I've spent the last few years working out of coffee shops, co-working spaces, airport lounges and far too many trains. Living out of a backpack will teach you fast that every gram matters, and so does your posture after the third hour of head-down typing.
I bought a portable monitor for the freedom — and immediately ran into the same problem at every desk: there was nothing decent to put it on. So I improvised. Stacks of books. A folded jumper. A laptop balanced on top of another laptop. By the end of most days my neck felt like it had been carrying my laptop, not the other way around.
I searched everywhere for a stand that was actually built for the way mobile work works in 2026 — small enough to live in the side pocket of a backpack, strong enough to hold a real screen, fast enough to set up before my flat white arrived. There wasn't one. So I sketched, prototyped, broke a lot of aluminium, and eventually had something I trusted enough to ship.
That's the CarryRise Portable Monitor Stand. 380 grams. 3 kilograms of load. 15 seconds from "in your bag" to "at eye level." It's the thing I wish I'd had three years ago, and it's the first of a small, opinionated line of CarryRise gear for people whose office is wherever they parked their laptop.
We're a tiny team based in London. We answer our own emails, listen to our own customers, and only ship things we'd actually use ourselves. If you've got an idea, a frustration, or a story about where you've used yours — please do drop me a line.
Our promise to you
